New outsourced apprentice service for central Queensland

BUSY At Work has today announced a new service to help local businesses source, employ and retain their apprentices. The new arm will be called BUSY At Work Apprentice Solutions and will be heavily focused on retention by providing a tailored outsourced apprenticeship management service.

Statistics indicate that 50 per cent of apprentices do not finish their apprenticeship. Apprentice Solutions will be strongly focused on reducing this figure by making sure the individual is the best-fit from the outset while providing career development, coaching and soft skilling services to the apprentice and supervisors over the long-term.

Paul Miles, Deputy CEO of BUSY At Work said the new service is the result of more than a year of industry consultation and behind the scenes work by the organisation.

“We’ve taken our expert knowledge and insight from more than 30 years to provide local businesses with a program directed at what they need in today’s changing business landscape," he said.

“As every business is different, we know one size doesn’t fit all and this program gives flexibility to every element.

“Businesses can pick and choose which program elements would suit them, whether it is outsourcing your apprentices through BUSY to coaching or soft skilling to improve fundamental communication skills.

“BUSY’s pre-employment, soft skilling and coaching services will ensure that apprentices are the right fit for the role, qualification, industry and most importantly, for the business.

“This new business arm will fill the gap for many businesses not currently receiving the services they need."

BUSY has a long history of providing apprenticeships services to the communities of Queensland and has seen first-hand how apprenticeships can invigorate businesses and the lives of individuals.

The service will be available in central Queensland from June 4. Interested businesses can contact their local office for information and advice now.

BUSY will continue to provide current services such as Indigenous employment and professional recruitment services to the central region.
