Coffee for a cause

Coffee fixes around the nation on August 10 will be helping the homeless.
You could turn your daily coffee fix into a good deed next month with the annual Cafe Smart event taking place on August 10.
One dollar from every cup of coffee sold at participating cafes across the country will be donated to fund local projects to aid those without homes.
Run by Street Smart, an organisation focused on tackling homelessness, the yearly event aims to help those who live on the streets by raising the issue in the community through a shared love of coffee.
Making your contribution is as simple as buying your daily latte or flat white from one of 99 cafes across the country taking part in Cafe Smart next month.
Last year the one-day event raised almost $50,000 which assisted in local projects to tackle homelessness in a number of Australian communities.
Queensland cafe Busy Beat is showing its support for the cause by taking part in the event for the second year running.
Busy Beat, located in Ipswich, doesn't just sell good coffee for a worthy cause - it also runs as a social enterprise aimed at helping job seekers return to the workforce.
The Busy Beat centre equips people with essential skills to help them secure employment, including apprentice support to help get them into traineeships in Queensland.
