Open Day ready to hear from jobseekers
BUSY At Work will be holding two separate jobseeker open days on Thursday, February 9 and Friday, February 10.
Kathie Kelly, Employment Solutions Manager for BUSY At Work, says the free open days will be a great opportunity for new jobseekers to explore career options and have all their work-related questions answered.
“We’re looking to hear from school leavers who might not know what they would like to do and have been considering an apprenticeship or traineeship but don’t know what it entails," Kathie says.
“We have roles available now in areas such as construction, hairdressing, commercial cookery, baking and administration.
“An apprenticeship or traineeship is a great way to earn while you learn and can develop into a really fulfilling career path.
"There are so many avenues an apprenticeship can take. Many business owners I speak with started as an apprentice in their trade, so it’s also a great path to running your own business.”
Paul Miles, BUSY At Work Deputy CEO, says the day also has benefits for employers. “Employers seek staff with practical skills and real world experience and apprenticeships and traineeships are an excellent way for entry level staff to get this exposure," he says.
The first day will be in Nundah, Brisbane, and the second is in Southport on the Gold Coast.
