Your Pathway
On this page you'll find a step by step guide to what happens from the beginning of your apprenticeship or traineeship to completing and who does what, where and when.
When you are ready to start work then you’re ready to begin the apprenticeship induction process.
STEP 1
Contact BUSY At Work
- Your employer should contact BUSY At Work and our friendly staff will arrange to visit your workplace to officially induct you and your employer into the program and sign the National Training Contract. If you're under 18 your parent or guardian will have to sign the contract also.
STEP 2
Select a training provider
- You and your employer select a training provider. BUSY can assist you with a list of training providers, known as Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), in your area that may be suitable. The RTO will work with you and your employer to develop a training plan which is your road map towards achieving your qualification.
STEP 3
Registration of your National Training Contract
- BUSY At Work will register the details of your training contract with the Queensland State Training Authority, known as the Department of Education and Training (DET). The State Training Authority will send you and your employer a letter confirming that the Australian Apprenticeship has been registered.
STEP 4
BUSY administers Australian Government incentives
- During the apprenticeship or traineeship, BUSY At Work will facilitate payment of your eligible Government incentives. These will be posted to you as claim forms. This happens at different times, depending on what financial assistance you may be eligible for.
STEP 5
We keep in touch with you
- At different times throughout the apprenticeship or traineeship BUSY At Work will contact you to see how things are progressing.
STEP 6
Ready to complete
- When you, your employer and the RTO agree that all the requirements of your training plan have been met, then you're ready to complete your qualification. You all sign a completion agreement / notice of issue of qualification. The RTO will issue you with their certificate and send the completion agreement to the Department of Education and Training (DET). This can sometimes be done earlier than expected as most qualifications are competency based.
STEP 7
Completion
- The Department of Education and Training (DET) will issue a certificate of completion to you and will also advise your employer in writing that the certificate has been issued.
