Mature Age 45+

You can up-skill or re-skill at any age, even if you have had a long absence from the workforce. Many training programs are now provided around family and financial responsibilities, giving you flexibility to choose how, when and where you train.

Demographic statistics have shown that our workforce is ageing. Mature age workers are currently seen as a source of new skills and are an important component of business growth. However, mature aged workers often face barriers to employment and training. The Australian Government has made available a range of support to encourage businesses to take on mature age workers. This support includes the following:

  • Mature Age Worker Incentive (45+)

The Mature Aged Worker incentive is provided to employers who employ a mature aged worker in a Certificate II level or higher who is 45 years of age or older and has faced particular challenges. Once eligibility is approved a $750 incentive is paid to the employer at the commencement and again at the completion of the qualification. The Mature Age worker incentive can be obtained in addition to the Support for Adult Australian Apprentice (SAAA) incentive. It’s best to get a specialist BUSY consultant to assist you to make an informed decision about which qualification and training outcome will best suit your needs.
