Our commitment to positive social change and providing support to local communities is at the heart of all we do. We use our surpluses to aid local community projects through our Community Services arm. BUSY At Work Community Services develop initiatives to assist communities who may be facing barriers with gaining employment. These community projects assist people to learn self awareness, life and social skills, plus job preparation and employment expectations. They also receive mentoring and expert career advice, all while developing life skills that many of us take for granted. Some of our current projects include:
Our cornerstone Community Services project is Busy Beat in Ipswich, a social enterprise centre comprising of a cafe, catering facilities, and training room. Busy Beat aims to give local job seekers an opportunity to undertake real world work experience and training as a means to transition into the workforce in a safe and caring environment.
The Busy Beat Pre-Employment and Training Centre in Southport supports Gold Coast job seekers and community members in preparing themselves for entry into the workforce. It offers resume writing assistance, interview preparation, job search advice, job placement and a range of short workshops to help people reach their dream job.
R U BUSY? is a twelve week program that aims to create a transition for disengaged young people between the age of 17 and 19 years to obtain employment, return to school or continue with other education or training.
