BUSY At Work’s Amanda Davis recipient of Youth Services of the Year Award

The Rotary Club of Chinchilla has awarded BUSY At Work staff member Amanda Davis with its Vocational Awards 2013 Youth Service Award.

Amanda was nominated by the Rotary Club for her ongoing commitment to the youth of Chinchilla, with the award a recognition by the Rotary Club of Chinchilla for outstanding contributions to members of the community.

Amanda is employed as an Apprentice Support Officer under the QGC Strengthening Local Workforces Program. Amanda’s role is to recruit, retain, coach and mentor apprentices and trainees to completion.

Amanda works closely with employers, key stakeholders, potential participants and apprentices and trainees to promote the QGC program and all divisions of BUSY At Work.

For the past five years, Amanda has been assisting local high schools with their career education programs, providing information on school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, attending subject selection evenings as well as holding mock interviews and helping with resume preparation.

Amanda has also been an active member of the Western Downs Careers Expo group – which is responsible for the organisation of the annual careers expo – for the last five years.

An active member of the Chinchilla Community Commerce and Industry also, Amanda has held various roles, including vice president in 2012.
