CareerMe app provides career information at your fingertips

BUSY At Work’s CareerMe app is the first career exploration app of its kind on the market allowing jobseekers to have career information at their fingertips.

The app is free to download for iPhones and iPads and has been designed to help people plan their career paths and find job opportunities. It is expected that the app will also be available on Android in the coming months.

The app provides up-to-date information about job occupations allowing students to learn about career paths and easily make the transition from school to the world of work. More importantly it highlights the job occupations where skills are most needed.

BUSY At Work Career Pathway Officer, Julie Rogan said the CareerMe app was a great tool for young jobseekers.

“CareerMe is aimed at our senior students, Year 10 up giving them instant access to career information. It’s easy for jobseekers to check out the steps needed to get their dream job and it also provides information on the right path to take whether it be vocational education or university,” Ms Rogan said.

The app collates information on various industries and occupations including job descriptions, training requirements, training locations and what jobs are actually available.

Specifically jobseekers can find information on

  • Industry profiles – size, market, job growth, gender profile, average age and average income
  • The top jobs available and the skills shortages in each industry
  • Job descriptions for each job
  • Training requirements and organisations that provide the training with GPS locations
  • Current job vacancies with links to BUSY At Work’s Apprenticeship Central and Seek

BUSY At Work CEO, Paul Miles said the CareerMe app was a great tool for young people looking for information on career pathways.

“We are pleased to provide this excellent tool for jobseekers to complement our existing career pathway tools including Apprenticeship Central and the Harrison Career Assessment.”

“The CareerMe app has some great information for jobseekers to help them start to make meaningful decisions on what jobs are out there and what career pathways they should follow,” Mr Miles said.
