Creative Kick-off launch at SBIT for National Skills Week

If you’re one of the many people who have considered pursuing apprenticeships in Brisbane, then head on over to the Creative Kick-off launch at the Southbank Institute of Technology to assess your career options as part of National Skills Week (August 26-September 1).

This event will begin the skills week in fitting fashion, giving a rundown of the activities planned for the week and showcasing the work of students in an art exhibition.

The Creative Kick-off will take place on Monday August 26, with a number of exciting programs to take place over the week including the Urban, Rural, Remote information session discussing training options for Indigenous students.

There will also be a pop-up cake shop on Wednesday August 28, showcasing sweet creations from the institute’s hospitality students. Funds raised from the cake sales will be put toward the new TAFE Directors Australia National Scholarship Foundation. This provides financial assistance to training and vocational education students around Australia.

SBIT Acting Chief Executive Dr Christina Hong said that they are “very much” looking forward to showcasing opportunities for young and old at the institute with National Skills Week a “fantastic opportunity” to raise the profile of vocational education.
