Gympie office opening morning tea to bring key stakeholders together

BUSY At Work in partnership with CoAct is now delivering jobactive Employment Services in Gympie and surrounding region including north to Tin Can Bay, West to Imbil and South to Cooran.

An expected 30 plus key stakeholders from local businesses, jobactive providers and job seekers will attend a morning tea at the opening of the new CoAct BUSY At Work office in Gympie on Wednesday 4 November 2015.

CoAct represents 25 community-based employment service providers with the aim to build collaboration between the employment services sector, industry and community sectors.

As a specialist provider of job placement assistance CoAct BUSY At Work Employment Services are dedicated to helping job seekers find the right job that will lead to sustainable rewarding careers.

BUSY At Work Site Manager for Gympie and Noosaville, Ms Eve Stevenson said the purpose of the morning was to enable stakeholders to meet the new team and to hear about what services BUSY At Work would bring to the region.

“This is an opportunity for us to connect, share ideas and discover ways we can support the community. We will also be demonstrating best practice and innovative changes towards assisting people to gain sustainable employment.”

“This is also an excellent opportunity to network and hear why having an apprentice or trainee can be a viable choice for your business,” Ms Stevenson added.

Eve said the BUSY At Work Employment Services team at Gympie was dedicated to helping job seekers and employers find the right match.

“Our Employment Services strategy is about getting local people into local jobs and providing a positive experience for both job seekers and employers that focuses on individually tailored support.”

Having only recently joined the BUSY At Work team, Eve said she had spent the past 25 years in both the United Kingdom and Australia working in roles supporting disadvantaged young people.

She said it was important to gain a strong understanding of the local issues and challenges faced by employers and job seekers.

“There is a strong retail base in Gympie so it’s important that our team understands local business owners needs and ready job seekers accordingly,” Ms Stevenson said.

BUSY At Work CEO, Paul Miles said BUSY was pleased to now be delivering jobactive Employment Services in Gympie.

“We are proud partners with CoAct and look forward to delivering a high quality service which will provide a positive experience for employers and job seekers to create a robust and effective, local workforce,” Mr Miles said.

“We understand the real challenges our employers face in regional areas having had Apprenticeship Support Network offices throughout Queensland, including here in Gympie for many years. We have also been working with youth and the long term unemployed throughout Queensland for many years and have been party to some great successes.”

“It’s about matching the right people with the right job at the very beginning and to help do this we provide our Gateway Services which include a range of free tools and career pathway resources to assist employers and job seekers,” Mr Miles said.
