BUSY At Work’s already strong partnership with global insurance company Youi reached new heights last month with the launch of Youi’s tailor-made traineeship program for all new call centre employees.

The first twenty new recruits were signed up through BUSY At Work to the company’s 12 month Certificate III in Customer Engagement program.

BUSY At Work General Manager Workforce Planning and Industry Engagement, Sue Loch was ecstatic to see the program get underway after having worked with Youi on the program for some time.

“As an employer of choice in this region we are excited to be partnering with a likeminded organisation like Youi who are committed to engaging with the local Sunshine Coast community and supporting local businesses.”

“Youi are the largest private sector employer on the Sunshine Coast and we are delighted to be delivering our Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) services for their traineeships on a monthly basis.”

“As one of the fastest growing insurance companies in the country Youi understands the value of an accredited training qualification. This combined with their own internal training ensures that they will not only provide elite customer service but continue to grow and provide secure jobs for their expanding workforce,” Ms Loch said.

Youi Accredited Training Specialist Jolanda Bronkhorst said the company had been working with BUSY for a number of years to help get the accredited training program underway.

“BUSY were able to provide us with relevant information about traineeships and how to integrate the accreditation into the current training schedule.”

“While we have always provided dedicated training and upskilling to all our employees it was important that we could align this training to a recognised national qualification so that our employees had something to show for it at the end of the day.”

“Through working with BUSY we were able to gain a better understanding of the Traineeship Model and what options were available to us.”

“With this knowledge we worked with our Registered Training Organisation (RTO), the Australian College of Commerce and Management (ACCM) to develop tailor made training specific to the requirements of the Youi call centre.”

“It was wonderful working with ACCM as their skills, knowledge and support have been vital in the development of the training program,” Ms Bronkhorst said.
While the Certificate IIII in Customer Engagement is for call centre employees selling insurance, Youi are also creating opportunities for staff to work in other areas such as claims, client services and recoveries.

BUSY At Work CEO, Paul Miles said BUSY was pleased to partner with Youi who understand the value of employee training.

“We are proud of our association with Youi and are excited that Youi has joined us in playing a key role in growing Australian traineeships and providing rewarding careers within the insurance industry,” Mr Miles said.

Youi’s head office is located in Birtinya on the Sunshine Coast although new premises are currently under construction in Sippy Downs with the first stage to be completed in December this year.

The $68 million first stage four level building will house the company’s current 1000 staff and allow them to employ a further 800 by the end of the year. Youi is planning a second stage of construction in the near future which will accommodate up to a further 2,000 staff members.

As part of their commitment to the community Youi’s new global headquarters will also include a public outdoor plaza, recreational facilities as well as a park and cafe.
