Opening soon: Nominations for Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards

Nominations will open soon for the Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards.

The best of Lockyer Valley’s businesses and employees will be recognised at this year’s Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards, with nominations opening at the end of the month.

Nomination kits will be available from the Lockyer Valley Regional Council website from August 31 and can also be collected from council offices in Laidly and Gatton from September 2.

Mayor Steve Jones said that the awards were an opportunity to reward outstanding businesses and employees in the region, and is a way of recognising those who excel.

Community members who pursued school-based, adult or mature age apprenticeships also have the opportunity to be recognised for their efforts, with rewards for this category up for grabs.

Mr Jones comments that the event has really grown over the last few years, becoming “quite a showpiece” for the Lockyer Valley.

“It is really rewarding to see the amount of confidence businesses and employees receive from this night,” he said.

“We have a lot of talent in the Valley and winning one of these awards is something which can help you grow your business or help you develop your career.”

A workshop will be held at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre on September 11 at 6 p.m to help nominees prepare their applications. Nominations for the awards close on September 30, with the winners to be announced on November 23.
