When Wendy Hart first approached BUSY At Work Community Services Recruitment Officer, Janet Emerton back in 2008 little did she know it would be a life changing step to her future career.
“At the time I had my own business and helped Wendy with her resume. She kept my personal mobile phone number and called to see if I could help her again. When she rang I told her about Busy Beat services and invited her in to use the service,” Janet said.
In March this year Wendy was successful in gaining her dream job as Sales Coordinator for Outrigger Resorts Australian Corporate Office.
Wendy said she had been in contact with the Busy Beat hub several times over the years and was extremely grateful for all the advice and support she had received.
“I first contacted Janet back in 2008 when I was looking for work. I remember it being a very positive meeting so I decided to keep her business card.”
“I contacted Janet again in 2014 and made appointment to come and see her to get assistance with my resume following the birth of my youngest child.”
“After a period of maternity leave I once again contacted the hub in February this year to help me with my resume as I was applying for the position of Sales Coordinator for Outrigger Resorts Australian Corporate Office.” Wendy said.
“I was put in contact with the BUSY At Work Community Support Services Officer, Rachel Jack who couldn’t do enough for me and was extremely helpful with me getting this position.
“I cannot praise the staff at Busy Beat enough for their patience, knowledge and experience and it is great to know that I can rely on them to assist me,” Wendy added.
After three months working in her new role Wendy said she was enjoying being part of the sales and marketing team.
“I love the fast paced nature of the position and being able to learn new technologies. Working four days a week gives me a good work/life balance and allows me to spend quality time with my three children,” Wendy said.
Ms Emerton said Wendy had shown great resilience and dedication towards finding work.
“The fact that Wendy has kept our details since 2008 shows the support and services we offer to our clients can have positive and life changing results,” Ms Emerton said.
The Southport hub is one of two Busy Beat hubs, the other being in Ipswich. As well as offering pre employment training, the hub helps prepare job seekers by providing assistance with resume writing, interview preparation and job search advice.
