We believe that disadvantaged people, or people with disability who want to work, should be afforded the opportunity and support to do so. ON‑Q Disability Services are approved to offer employment supports under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). They deliver truly customised solutions to help you find the right job – no matter your personal, social, or cultural circumstances. If you’re eligible for the NDIS and you’re still at school, about to leave, or have just left and starting out in the workforce, we can help.
Depending on your unique needs, ON‑Q can support you in many different ways. They can help to get you ready for work, help you find the right job match for your circumstances, provide on-the-job training, organise any paperwork or workplace modifications and liaise with your employer to make sure everything works out. Once you are placed in your new job, ON‑Q will continue to support both you and your employer for as long as you need.
How does ON-Q make it easier to access new opportunities?
They’ll sit down with you to learn about your career goals and then help you tailor a plan to reach them. Whatever your career stage or personal circumstances, ON-Q can help you with the next step of your employment journey. They can help locate potential employers, assist with your resume and ensure you understand interview processes.
ON-Q can also help with a range of other support services that you may require. Besides helping you find the right job and prepare for work, they can also help with organising any paperwork or workplace modifications and liaise with your employer to make sure everything is smooth sailing in your new role.
School leaver support
ON-Q’s School Leaver Employment Support (SLES for short) can help you reach your goals once you finish school. The programs are tailored to fit what you want to achieve – such as help with literacy and numeracy, budgeting, transport or cooking. In general, you will receive SLES support for about 3 days per week for up to 2 years, however, the actual days and hours of support can vary based on what you would like to achieve.
If you’re an employer and you’re interested in hiring someone with a disability, you can learn more about the benefits on ON-Q’s website here.
