Claire Excels thanks to an Early Childhood Scholarship!

A middle-aged woman with fair skin and wavy reddish-blonde hair smiles gently, with support by BUSY at Work. Greenery is blurred behind.

Claire, a single parent, had been working in a support educator role, with experience in all age groups. Wanting to further her career prospects as an educator in Early Childhood, she applied for the Early Childhood Scholarship Program.

The program allowed Claire to equip herself with the technology necessary for success and be HECS debt free at the end of her studies. This included providing a buffer while on placement minimising her financial stress while studying.

Claire has been able to improve her family’s position by purchasing her first home and believes this would not have been unachievable without the assistance of the scholarship initiative.

“Now as an Early Childhood Teacher, I have been able to move out of public housing and purchase my first home for myself and children.”

She is ‘blown away’ at what she has achieved with the scholarship opportunity. As someone who didn’t complete high school, and who had little technical experience or expertise, she can now confidently make her way around a laptop and the support programs required in her work.

Claire looks forward to her career growth and will continue in her role as a 4-year-old kindergarten teacher where she can gain her full registration.

Claire is thankful to all the wonderful lecturers that helped shape her practice and the connections with other professionals she made during her studies. Claire was also impressed with the support provided by BUSY At Work (scholarship program administrators) and the Early Childhood Scholarship initiative, stating she feels blessed to have been given this opportunity.
