About The BUSY Schools
At The BUSY Schools, we offer Year 11 and 12 students an alternative learning solution and the opportunity to re-engage with education and complete school (their QCE) while getting a head start into employment.     
Students complete a personalised educational program, learn skills for life and have the opportunity to start paid employment and training while still at school.  The BUSY Schools are growing in the community and have campuses at Cairns, Salisbury, Shailer Park and Coolangatta.   
The BUSY Schools is part of The BUSY Group, which presents 40 years as a community partner offering an extensive range of employment services, vocational training, apprenticeships, mentoring, NDIS, disability employment support, and allied health services.
About the position
Based at the Salisbury Campus, you will be required to re-engage students and teach within the areas of Year 11 or 12 predominately in Social and Community Studies, with occasional delivery of Maths and English as required.
Our team is required to work together to assist our students and the school in achieving success. This involves building strong respectful relationships with a range of students while utilising behaviour management techniques to maintain the expectations of the classroom. It also involves working closely with teacher aides and utilising their abilities in the classroom to help the students.
We aim to achieve academic success while preparing our students for their future, with a heavy emphasis on vocational pathways as a roadmap to achievement. 
This is a part time role working Wednesday (half day), Thursday and Friday.
About you
The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant teaching qualification
  • You hold full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a Teacher in Queensland
  • Ability to work within the curriculum of secondary education
  • Ideally have experience with students with social-emotional challenges and knowledge of the senior school system
  • Be passionate about facilitating and supporting student education pathways
  • Experience with the Berry Street Education Model or have a willingness to train in trauma informed practice is highly desirable 
  • Primary trained teachers are encouraged to apply
