Could a business administration traineeship benefit your future career?

The scope for business administration positions is increasing.

For many young Australians, deciding on a future career pathway can be a tricky process. If you find yourself in this position, one of the best options is to gain some helpful on-the-job training and experience.

In fact, with Robert Half highlighting Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) figures that show Administration and Support Services jobs have increased, a business administration traineeship shouldn’t be out of the question.

Scope for administration roles widens

Between June and August this year, there were 6,000 new roles created within this industry, boosted by a rise in business confidence and more leaders wanting to add value to their core business functions. Since November 2014, ABS numbers show an increase of 32,000 administration and support roles – highlighting the scope for traineeships in the near future.

Robert Half Director, Andrew Morris explained this situation in more detail.

“For young people getting started in the workforce, administrative roles are also a great way to get a foot in the door with a company where you want to build your career,” he said.

“The increase in administrative roles is also fantastic for those looking for more flexible or part time opportunities or those looking to re-enter the job market. Skills in HR and customer service are in demand.”

With the end of the year closing in, Mr Morris also cited the need from businesses to plug the gaps in their workforce and begin allocating resources for a busy start to 2016.
