‘Supporting the Human Behind the Analytics’

In a big-data world, ever get the feeling organisations forget the human behind (or central to) the data? Understanding and forecasting human behaviour is critical in today’s fast-paced business environment. Enter humanalytics—a groundbreaking method that harnesses the power of data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence to unravel the intricate web of human activities and experiences. It’s the tool that organisations like BUSY use to stay ahead of the curve, make informed decisions and revolutionise the way we support our clients.

At BUSY, we’ve fully embraced ‘humanalytics’ to make sure that human behaviour is at the core of everything we do. We’re proud to be pioneers in this innovation, in collaboration with PhDs in Psychology and Human Informatics. Together, we’ve leveraged humanalytics to delve deep into our apprentice and employer data, taking a proactive stance to anticipate potential issues and provide tailored support before problems even crop up. This approach ensures a seamless and effective support system for our apprentices.

Our research has already uncovered some fascinating insights, like the fact that a simple change in phone numbers can be a crucial indicator of possible dropouts. This underscores how external factors can have a significant impact on an individual’s commitment to our program. We’ve also learned that an apprentice’s initial commitment to the program isn’t a strong predictor of completion, highlighting just how intricate human decision-making can be.

Using advanced machine learning techniques and constantly evolving data, BUSY is creating an early warning system to identify risks and offer targeted support. This sophisticated approach allows us to reach out to apprentices who might be on the verge of disengagement, eliminating the need for reactive measures that often come too late.

This predictive capability is a game-changer, ensuring that our apprentices and employers receive precisely the support they need when they need it most. We’re shifting the narrative from ‘closing the barn door after the horse has bolted’ to a proactive approach that nips issues in the bud, creating an environment where our apprentices and employers can truly thrive and fulfill their potential.
