Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) programs are a set of short upskilling courses that are funded and supported by the Queensland Government. These training programs are perfect for people who are unemployed, re-entering the workforce after a little while or disadvantaged job seekers.

The training not only provides you with the skills and confidence you need to land a job, it also provides financial incentives to employers if they hire you, putting you to the top of the call back list!

Available Short Courses

Ranging from 2 to 12 weeks, BUSY At Work delivers the following Skilling Queenslanders for Work Training Courses across different regions in Queensland.

Rising Stars – Certificate II in Hospitality – Brisbane CBD
Duration: 10 weeks training (theory and practical)
Commencing again in January 2020

Get BUSY Hospitality – Ipswich
Duration: 10 weeks (theory and practical)
Commencing in February 2020

BUSY Jarjum Childcare – Toowoomba
12 week course commencing January 2020
Open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons who are unemployed or underemployed.

BUSY Getting Ready for Work – Esk and Toogoolawah
Enrol at any time
Open to persons aged 15-24. 
Duration: 3 weeks. Employability skills training

Get BUSY Bricklaying – Acacia Ridge and Ipswich 
For anyone unemployed or underemployed.
Enrolling for Acacia Ridge now (Nov 2019) and for Ipswich (Feb 2020)

Get BUSY Boating – Maritime Industry – Northern Gold Coast
Enrolling Now and again in March 2020
Open to unemployed or under-employed females
Duration: 8 weeks plus work experience

Get BUSY in Health Services – Murarrie (South Brisbane)
Enrolling for February 2020, this course provides learning that can lead to a career in phlebotomy (blood collection) or laboratory work).
Duration: 6 weeks
