Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) programs are a set of short upskilling courses that are funded and supported by the Queensland Government. These training programs are perfect for people who are unemployed or under-employed, re-entering the workforce after a little while or disadvantaged job seekers.

The training not only provides you with the skills and confidence you need to land a job, it also provides financial incentives to employers if they hire you, putting you to the top of the call back list!

Available Short Courses

Ranging from 2 to 12 weeks, BUSY At Work and Skill360 (a part of The BUSY Group) deliver the following Skilling Queenslanders for Work Training Courses across different regions in Queensland:

START YOUR ELECTRICAL CAREER
CAIRNS – COMMENCES JAN 2022

Held in Cairns, this 12 week course will provide the practical and theory knowledge to start your Electrical career.

There are limited places! To ensure you reserve your spot register to attend the pre-course information session on the 6th January.

GET BUSY IN CONSTRUCTION
KILCOY – COMMENCES 21st FEB 2022

Learning on-site at Kilcoy Racecourse, this course is suitable for persons aged 15 plus who are looking to start a career in Construction. Further eligibility criteria applies.

GET BUSY BARBERING
TOOWONG – COMMENCES 21st FEB

FSK20113 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways – with modules from your 1st year apprenticeship in Barbering.

You will also be given tools for the trade and career pathway development and advice.

RISING STARS IN HOSPITALITY
BRISBANE – COMMENCES 21st FEB 2022

Learning on-site at an inner-city Brisbane Hotel, this course will get you ready for work in hospitality! Gain a Certificate II in Hospitality (SIT20316), practical work experience and career advice and support.

BUILDING FOUNDATION SKILLS – COMMENCES 28th March

Prepare to enter or re-enter the workforce! With a focus on digital skills and other soft skills expected in the workplace, this course will link participants with career opportunities within Business, Retail Services, Community Services.

Following the recent Queensland Health advice, a number of BUSY At Work offices will be temporarily closed in the Greater Brisbane Area from 5pm Monday the 29th March and will not reopen until after the Easter long weekend on Tuesday the 6th of April, 2021.
