The BUSY Group has opened the doors to its new Employment Services operation in Niagara, delivering Ontario’s Integrated Employment Services to job seekers and employers across St. Catharines and Welland.
The service is delivered as part of Employment Ontario, in partnership with Fedcap and under contract with Niagara Region, providing free, locally based support for anyone seeking work. This includes people receiving Ontario Works, ODSP or Employment Insurance, people with disabilities, Indigenous job seekers, newcomers to Canada, and young people starting out in their career.
It marks The BUSY Group’s second major operation in Canada, alongside The BUSY School Calgary, which opens to senior secondary students in August 2026.
“For nearly 50 years, we have helped people find work, build skills and stay employed. Bringing that experience to Niagara is a real privilege. We know that finding work can be hard, especially when life is already complicated. Our job is to make it easier; to meet people where they are, work with them at their pace, and stay with them as they settle into employment,” said Paul Miles, Managing Director of The BUSY Group.
Both the St. Catharines and Welland sites are open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, with appointments available within a week of first contact.
The service operates on a “No Wrong Door” approach, meaning anyone seeking employment support in the catchment is welcome to walk in, call, or get in touch online, regardless of their background or circumstances. The BUSY Group’s employment counsellors work with each client to develop an individual plan, connecting them with training, employer opportunities, financial supports and ongoing job coaching for up to 12 months after they start work.
Clients also have access to Power of Possible, a signature job-readiness curriculum developed by Fedcap. The program is strengths-based and designed to help job seekers, particularly those receiving Ontario Works, identify their capabilities and build momentum toward sustainable employment.
The BUSY Group is also working with Niagara employers across sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, agriculture and retail. The service can match motivated, job-ready candidates with local businesses looking for staff at no cost, and provide ongoing support to ensure successful retention.
