Real Stories, Real Progress
For 18-year-old Jayden, Transition to Work opened the door to a hands-on career. Now completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology as an apprentice with Link Electrical, he’s thriving.
“I’m learning new things that I haven’t before… It was all very quick. I signed up to the program and within a week, I had an interview for a job and was then offered an apprenticeship.”
Sophie, 21, had dreams of becoming a teacher’s aide while studying part-time at university. Through the Transition to Work program, she quickly began to see progress.
“Within 4 weeks of being with BUSY, I received my blue card, help with my resume and options on different pathways to becoming a teacher’s aide.”
Transition to Work also supports young people who need further skills. Like Neville, 23, who with help from BUSY At Work, went on to attend the Skills for Education and Employment program (for literacy and numeracy skills, working toward his goal of securing a job in woodwork.
Whole-Person Support Makes a Difference
Many participants also access wrap-around services offered by The BUSY Group. Both Neville and Sophie connected with BUSY Health to improve their mental and physical wellbeing.
“I got incredibly lucky to have been given that extra support; I have not made this much progress in such a long time,” Sophie shared.
And when asked what advice they’d give other young people thinking about career support? Their message was unanimous:
“Come to BUSY!”
As Sophie added:
“Services like this with kind and nurturing professionals really make a difference.”
