Child care graduate, Damon, has big plans

“I grew up looking after my little cousins and there were plenty of them, more than you can count on two hands!  I guess that taught me what it takes to look after children. I like inspiring kids to play outdoors, kicking the ball and having fun. That’s what being a kid is about”. Damon said.

Damon’s employer at Little Scholars, Amy Crimmins, sees a bright future for Damon in the industry, saying “All the kids love him, he really commands their attention. Damon is a natural at child care and can go far in the industry”.

The gentle giant has bold plans too, stating “I would one day like to have my own child care centre and make a successful career out of it”.

Paul Miles, Managing Director at BUSY At Work stated “With the child care industry experiencing skills shortages there are many opportunities for job seekers looking to gain a career in the industry. A traineeship path allows a person to earn while they learn on the job. We also see many school-based trainees get their start before they even leave school”.

“The team at BUSY can assist employers with their traineeship needs, as well as advise on any incentives available when hiring a trainee”, Paul further stated.
