Kickstart your future career with a school-based apprenticeship

If you’re approaching your final years of education, you’ve probably started giving some thought to what career you want to pursue.

You don’t necessarily have to wait until you have finished studying to start working on your career, with school-based apprenticeships allowing you to get your foot in the door of your desired industry while also balancing your education.

School-based apprenticeships involve a mix of academic, vocational education and training, as well as paid employment. It allows high school students of legal working age to get a head start on their career, providing industry experience and the ability to work toward a nationally-recognised qualification.

This Australian Apprenticeship can take anywhere from one to four years to complete, depending on the qualification, apprenticeship and industry.

Some trades students can choose to pursue include hairdressing, carpentry, vehicle painting, landscape gardening, bricklaying, baking, signwriting and panel beating.
