Automotive dealer Von Bibra Auto Village knows the value of employing apprentices and trainees and the benefits and stability they can bring to a business.

The company proudly boasts the largest range of new and used vehicles on the Gold Coast with four local auto villages featuring brands such as Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Holden, Kia and Subaru.

BUSY At Work Senior Industry Training Consultant, Darrin Larney said BUSY was continuing to build upon its already strong working partnership with the company.

“We have been supporting Von Bibra during the past 15 years in signing up apprentices and trainees and providing them with relevant information about Australian Apprenticeships and the Governments Incentive Programs available through our Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN).”

“Von Bibra provides a variety of fantastic career opportunities across the business from the automotive trades to administration and sales staff and we are delighted to have signed up in excess of 400 apprentices and trainees during this period,” Mr Larney said.

Von Bibra Auto Village Employee Relations Manager Simone Hansen said the company was committed to providing excellent opportunities for students, apprentices, trainees and graduates.

“As a growing business on the Gold Coast, we are committed to employing and training our staff to ensure they reach their full potential and feel proud to be part of our professional team.”

“While many of our apprentices go on to complete their Certificate IV in Automotive Technology some have the opportunity to further develop their skills in an auto electrical apprenticeship or in the refrigeration field.”

“For our automotive tradesmen our goal is to ensure we can develop experienced diagnostic technicians in a particular manufacture’s brand and provide expertise in the automotive industry.”

“We are proud that the majority of our apprentices stay with us after their apprenticeship and go onto to become Service Advisors and Service Managers,” Ms Hansen said.

Simone said Von Bibra were pleased to continue the partnership with BUSY At Work in helping young people achieve their career goals in the automotive industry.

“We know we can rely on BUSY At Work because they understand the process and can provide us with all the relevant information about Australian Government incentives and what subsidies are available.”

“BUSY’s Apprenticeship Central website is also a great job matching tool which allows us to register our vacancies and browse resumes from potential future staff for our industry,” Ms Hansen added.

One work experience student who is keen to forge a career at Von Bibra’s is Palm Beach Currumbin Year 11 student, Jessie Cottell.

Having commenced her Certificate III in Business Administration, the 17 year old is enthusiastic about working in the automotive industry.
“Originally I had plans to pursue a career in teaching but after learning about administration at school I decided to sign up as a school based trainee.”

“I love learning new computer skills and definitely enjoying working around cars,” Jessie said.

As part of her training, Jessie will work one day per week at Von Bibra Auto Village, Robina with a view to completing her training by the end of Year 12.

Since joining the company in May this year, Jessie has been kept busy learning about Excel spreadsheets, how to prepare Power Point presentations, coordination of the dealership bulletin board as well as assisting with setting up employment starter packs.

BUSY At Work, Managing Director Paul Miles said BUSY was delighted to partner with Von Bibra Auto Village in helping to train young people in a wide range of career options in the automotive industry.

“BUSY At Work is committed to growing Australian apprenticeships and traineeships and helping job seekers receive a nationally recognised qualification.”

“With increasing demand for automotive technology services we are excited that Von Bibra continues to develop young people and provide genuine career paths and highly skilled employees for the automotive industry,” Mr Miles said.
