Welcome to The Apprenticeship Community!

BUSY At Work and CoAct are delighted to introduce the new ‘face’ of training and employment in Western Australia – The Apprenticeship Community.

For the past nine months, BUSY At Work and CoAct have been working together to deliver the Government’s Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) services in Western Australia. The partnership has already yielded a number of key wins, benefiting countless local businesses and supporting thousands of apprentices and trainees.

In recognition of their achievements in WA, BUSY At Work and CoAct have created a new, unified brand, to better represent the services on offer to employers and apprentices. The Apprenticeship Community brings together the employment services experience of CoAct and the apprenticeship experience of BUSY At Work under a single, community-focused banner.

“We wanted to help employers and apprentices and trainees in Western Australia understand exactly what we do, and to reflect our local expertise,” explained Jo Eagle, State Manager of The Apprenticeship Community. “It was important that the unified brand represented our tailored approach to AASN services, which is all about connecting the right person to the right apprenticeship with the right employer.”

“We have ten offices across Western Australia, which means we are engaging with local businesses every day. We recognise the challenges and opportunities that are unique to Western Australians, and we work hard to deliver services that meet these needs.”

BUSY At Work CEO, Paul Miles, said BUSY was excited about the future of AASN services in WA under the new brand.

“This is a really exciting next step for BUSY and CoAct in our partnership for WA. This ‘whole of community’ brand represents our shared values to engage all existing and new stakeholders in the Apprenticeships system, in order to increase uptake in the right qualifications and further improve completions.

“The response we’ve received from communities throughout WA since July has been fantastic, and we’re passionate that our Apprenticeship Community approach can give employers and apprentices the holistic support they need to further develop their business or career,” Mr Miles said.

The brand was officially launched at a cocktail function at Perth’s Ascot Racecourse on Wednesday 23 March. Among the invited guests were some of WA’s largest employers and training and education providers.

Speaking at the event, CoAct CEO, Matt Little, said both organisations were pleased with the progress of the partnership to date.

“We’ve achieved an outstanding amount in just nine short months, which is testament to the dedication of the staff here in WA. There are number of new initiatives planned and already underway which will create a stronger workforce in the West and we look forward to bringing you more news about The Apprenticeship Community as we continue to grow.”
