The Board of BUSY At Work today announced a change in leadership for the not-for-profit organisation. Paul Miles will take over as the new Chief Executive Officer on August 6 as Vivienne Mallinson steps aside after 22 years with BUSY.
BUSY At Work is delighted to announce its new membership with the Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council (AIMSC).
Courses run for two weeks and offer full day sessions that provide students with essential skills and knowledge required to work in the security industry. Training is delivered by a team of committed professional instructors who are dedicated to providing the highest standard of education.
Busy Beat will support an essential component of the upcoming program and will be utilising its state of the art recording studio to do so. The LOVE BITES program has had excellent success in NSW and will now be delivered to 350 Year 10 High School Students through community collaboration. The collaboration includes Busy Beat, Ipswich Women’s Centre Against Domestic Violence, West Moreton Women’s Health, Police, and Ipswich Youth Service. This will be the first time the course has been taught in Ipswich.
The Finding Your Beat at Busy Beat workshop involved 12 to 16 year olds and was held to give youth from all walks of life and backgrounds the chance to experience music and sound.
This is to encourage the skilling of employees in particular industries, strengthening Australia’s economic growth and advancement. Not only do apprenticeships give young people a great start in life but there are a number of incentives to encourage the recruitment of people across a diverse range of demographics.

The local people in Chinchilla are excited about the program as it shows the commitment Linc Energy is making to their community. The program gives them an in-depth understanding of the growing energy industry, whilst also supporting local employment and upskilling. Linc Energy Chief Executive Officer Peter Bond said his company had made a long term commitment to Chinchilla residents and businesses.
This annual event took place across Australia, challenging business and community leaders to experience homelessness first-hand. The purpose was to bring this issue to the community’s attention and raise funds to support those who live on the streets.
Senator the Honourable Chris Evans Minister for Tertiary Education Skills, Jobs & Workplace Relations and representatives from the National Association of Australian Apprenticeship Centres met with 14 Australian Apprentices to review the program. Queensland was well represented with five apprentices attending from metropolitan and regional areas.
