Minerals sector ‘important for Indigenous employment’

Mining and minerals firms are boosting Indigenous employment.

School-based apprenticeships could also have a positive impact on improving workforce participation rates of Aboriginal Australians, with the report highlighting the importance of tackling youth unemployment in Indigenous communities.

“It is critical that the next generation’s education and employability is elevated as far as reasonably possible to avoid a widening of disadvantage gaps,” Professor Langton stated.
