A recruitment drive at two McDonald’s restaurants in Springfield has seen 80 people find employment at the company, with a further 20 vacancies expected in August. The fast food giant is creating thousands of jobs in Queensland as part of a $55 million investment announced last month.
The Queensland government has formally endorsed a Toondah Harbour revitalisation project in the Redlands, which is expected to create thousands of employment opportunities in the region.
Rockhampton students will be the first to benefit from a new government booklet aimed at helping more teenagers secure school-based apprenticeships.
A preferred developer was announced for the project on May 26, with Leighton Properties bagging the Northshore Hamilton contract. The company has been tasked with designing and building a mix of residential, retail and commercial properties on the estate.

Employment prospects in Townsville and the Gold Coast appear to be on the rise, with more than 16,500 jobs created across the two regions over the year to April 2015.
More than 700 jobs will be created in south-east Queensland during the construction of four train stabling facilities across the region.
