Transport corridors in Queensland face a range of different challenges, with many small towns facing heavy vehicle use as different projects and equipment move around the state. While these routes are obviously essential for the state’s mining and transport industries, they don’t necessarily provide a safe environment for locals.

One of these projects is the redevelopment of the old Gold Coast hospital site, a 3.4 hectare plot in the centre of the City’s CBD. While this reflects the values that Queenslanders have in their environment, it also presents a challenge to local councils and the state government to provide infrastructure that can support this lifestyle.
